a nice place to visit

so hot these days that the stench raises from the sticky sidewalk permeating the room with no screens on the windows the rotting leaves on the sidewalk trees clinging on to the branches as tenaciously as the neighborhood souls hold on to lives so impossibly harsh against odds sleeping on the pavement without even a cardboard house they line the sidewalks in the morning stretched out against the buildings hop over broken blue glass from auto breakins, on the way to work the old man by the jewish contemporary museum his head bent over permanently like picasso's blue guitarist he takes the coins he gets in his cup and buys a pink fruit smoothie at the organic cafe next to ccsf. in the warm night big mosquitos fly freely in the room, their bites big pink welts.
