the homeless couple living on the sidewalk across the street are resourceful and tenacious. they appear to be in their late forties or fifties. at least twice, the police have questioned them and frisked the man. the first time they were ordered to leave, so they packed up their things on the cart and rolled it 4 doors down, to the front of the Kean Hotel. the next day they had staked their claim to the same sidewalk between the two parking lots from which they had been booted. again the Police came, but this time they allowed them to stay. they chose this homestead between the only two grown trees on that side of the street.
