more people on the streets due to 12% unemployment? due to chief's crackdown on the tenderloin? or due to the fact that we would rather spend our tax dollars on wars that kill innocent children and their relatives...and we would rather spend our tax dollars on bailouts for bank execs so they can have more vacation homes and have more time to think up new ways to screw us - their saviors!
because god forbid we should spend our tax dollars on basic social services so that our people have food and shelter! by all means lets keep shoveling our tax dollars into the bottomless maw of the banks and the war profiteers and hasten our own demise!

He has a people forward plan at city hall called HOT for Homeless Outreach Team. You can reach them by dialing 311.
Supposedly, you see a street person in distress and call this "rescue" team. I called them a few weeks ago about a mentally ill man, in desperate need of basic services, living on the street. The HOT team said that if the mentally ill person did not agree to be "taken away" then nothing would be done for them. And they would be left to literally rot in the street. and that is the way the HOT team rolls. and that is the way it is.
