the fire dept sends ambulances multiple times a day to the same street corner and you know that if we could somehow build housing with services for people it would have to be cheaper than emergency services and it would be the right thing to do to take care of people too old, too infirm, disabled mentally or physically, addicted.... some of you will say that these people dont want help...they want to live on the street, be free....but that means that they have a mental disability that prevents them from pursuing their own self interest....we want to colonize Mars...but let us colonize our own space here and make humans comfortable on Earth first. Let's make humane shelters, let's give unwanted animals to the people in the shelters and give them a being that loves them and that they can love. And let us make it a priority over War. Apparently this supremely obvious and practical solution will never fly in the u s of a. Other civilized countries take care of their own. When will we?
